COVID-Safe Practices Remain the Priority
The City of Santa leadership announced that on Wednesday February 10, 2021 during its weekly council meeting that Fort Marcy Community Center would open to serve additional Santa Fe constituent starting Wednesday February 17, 2021.
This decision has required that the GCCC reevaluate its hours and days of services, that began on Monday 2/1/21.
The Genoveva Chavez Community Center will need to dial back to its original schedule of hours and days of operation from previous public information. The New actual hours are going to be 6:30 AM- 6:00 PM Monday – Friday, and Saturdays, 8:30 AM- 3:30 PM only.
However, the overall opportunities for all COSF residence to use the GCCC along with the opening of Ft. Marcy will serve even more COSF patrons. We will continue to increase occupancy at both locations in consideration of the state of New Mexico’s PHO (public health orders) directives.
The process will now be:
The current occupancy, which started on Monday February 1, 2021, at GCCC has increased our swimming lanes from 10 to 17 lap lanes, and 1 lane for vertical exercise; thus, there are now 18 lanes each session. The fitness facilities have increased from 10 to 25 participants per session.
The increased daily hours of operation, that took place, beginning Monday February 8, 2021 will once again return for fitness to 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays only.
The GCCC will not be open or operate on Sundays.
