Japanese Swimmers Training at GCCC

Updated: 02-25-10, 08:03AM

Please help us welcome two swim teams from Japan; beginning March 2, the GCCC will be hosting the Itoman Swimming School and the Japanese Swimming Federation.

As a result, there will be limited lap lanes in the Pool on Tuesday and Thursday mornings through March 18. We will have at least three long course lanes available for drop in swimmers at all times. Please be considerate of each other and utilize circle swimming etiquette.

The Japanese teams will hold their first workout on Tuesday, March 2 from 8:00am- 10:00am, workouts will be staggered for the remainder of their visit. The morning workout times are either 8:00am-10:00am or 6:15am- 8:15am and their afternoon workouts will be from 3:00pm-5:00pm each practice day.

The Pool will be changed to "Long Course- 50 meters in length" for all weekend hours from Saturday, March 6 - Sunday, March 21, 2010.

Each team will consist of ten swimmers and bring a variety of support in the form of coaches, massage therapists, sports trainers, and nutritionists. Both teams will be traveling together for this three and a half week  journey to Santa Fe. They will be swimming at the GCCC five to six days a week,  in increments of two hours, twice each practice day.

We are pleased to once again host these world class swimmers, and we hope that you will help us welcome these teams from Japan to the GCCC, and to our  Santa Fe Community.
